Hello, this was my first try at installing OpenRemote on Linux and I have to say it went better than I expected.
2 things though

1 the error below

Oct 1, 2013 9:56:49 PM org.apache.catalina.core.AprLifecycleListener init
INFO: The APR based Apache Tomcat Native library which allows optimal performance in production environments was not found on the java.library.path: /opt/OpenRemote-Controller/webapps/controller/WEB-INF/lib/native

and 2

tomcat and OpenRemote both use port 8080 by default?

when the tomcat6 service is running I can't get the controller page to load.

I will attempt to redirect/edit its port assignment?

-Peter

1) It's not an error, it's an INFO message. The native APR is unlikely to make much of a performance impact on a typical home installation with OpenRemote.

2) Instructios are here Change Controller Default Port

thanks for that, if I do need to get tomcat working though should I create a symbolic link to the library?

Tomcat will work without the APR libraries – the SSL performance may not be optional though.

If you do want to install the APR libraries, the instructions (at least in part) are here: http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-6.0-doc/apr.html

You may need to adapt the process a bit for OR.
