Hi everybody,

I've been using serial protocol for a couple of days for testing purposes (connecting to arduino board) and it just vanished from the drop-down list as an available protocol. I tried creating a different username for the openremote designer but the protocol is still missing. Any ideas?

Is it removed for good from the administrators?

I don't believe there has been any changes and think Serial was never in the "main" designer.

There are 3 different versions of the designer available: main stable one, staging and preview.
The later 2 are for testing some beta features before including in the main one.
I suppose you were using one of those before.

Please note that they are all connected to the same database so they share the same data.
This means that if you use a new feature in staging/preview and go back the main one, you may see errors, empty GUI design, ... and can potentially corrupt all your data. So it's always better to stick to the same version of the designer to avoid those issues.

Will the serial protocol appear anytime soon in the Professional version?
I would like to use it as an alternative control for my AXA 2.0 Window openers

Does anyone have some information on a generic RS232 protocol implementation? I am interested in if there is a link to a development branch or possible a designer with a protocol definition.

I have tested the UART (Serial) communication, with FTDI device, between arduino uno and openremote on windows but it doesn't work.
The led, on arduino board, don't flash when I send data from OR to Arduino UNO that is why I think I have a problem with OR.
Does anyone have an idea to resolve it ?
