Hi all!

Since a while I have been using OR on different Raspberry (version B or B+, different wheezy version up to 3.18). While it is usually running smoothly, after 1 or 2 months, OR doe not react to all commands anymore and I have realized that removing the log files solves the issue for another month or so.

Does anyone has the same issue?
If this is the case, is there a way to disable the writing of log files or should I create a cron task to remove these files time to time?

Any feedback is more than welcome!
Kind Regards!

D.-

i have a cron job to remove logs and restart every night. This is probably overkill, but i used to suffer from it locking up a lot, and decided i would like it to restart at midnight fresh with no log build up.

The Cron looks like this
15 0 * * * /opt/openremote/scripts/dr

and the script is as follows (remember to chmod +x to set it as executable).

rm /opt/openremote/logs/boot.log

rm /opt/openremote/logs/dev/*

/sbin/shutdown -r now

If things are going well, you can also consider to reduce or shut-off logging in file log4j.properties.
Reducing the number of writes is also better for the SD card in the Raspberry

Thanks both for your input.
PZ1, where is the file "log4j.properties"? I could not find it!

easy to find with a directory search.

openremote/webapps/controller/WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties

Thanks!
Shut-off logging tasks by editing the log4j.properties file works like a charm.
And indeed, will for sure increase the lifetime of the SD card at the same time.

All the best!
