Why does the GUI end up upside down on iPad, it does not rotate to either side, it only rotates to one side and I have to flip the iPad, this is opposite to the landscape
orientation iPad screen that appears on the gui designer, its almost like I have to design everything upside down...

Anyone......? wow

Because Apple handles the rotations differently in iOS 5, 6, 7 & 8 and the way OR handles rotation, this is a tricky topic to get right.
It's on my TODO list, with quite a high priority, to get a new release of the iOS console with these kinds of bugs fixed but I just have too many other stuff on my plate to focus on it.
Will do my best to find some time and get that out.

Hi Erik, still do not know the date of update? OR app for iPhone 6, iPhone 6plus and iPad is useless.
Too many mistakes and bad screen resolution, bad iPad orientation...etc

I am also wondering when a new iOS console will be published.
The screen size for the iPhone has not been correct since the iPhone 5 came on the market.

no reply? At least a little decency.

Nothing to add since last time. iOS console is open source, feel free to fix.

I know everyone is busy, but I wanted to keep this on your radar. I am dealing with the same issue, I have my wall mount wiring setup to have the Ipad mounted with the home button to the right like the designer. I am getting ready to work on installing them. It would be nice to have the screen rotate. I wish I could help out but I can barely get my own stuff done... Plus coding does not come easy to me. Please bump up on the priority list...... THANKS

Well being on top of a dead priority list doesn't bring a solution for you any closer. So you are probably better of with a wall mount Android rig. I got two of these 480*800 end of life 7 inch tablets for 50 Euro. Simple, not the most beautiful, but effective.

So is openremote going away from IOS?

Posted by drewscm at Apr 01, 2015 18:16

Not that I know, but reality is that overall development and maintence activity that we see here is very low since long.

Definitely not!

Hi Eric, any luck taking a look? I should have tested the orientation of my iPad panel but I was too excited to use OR with a wall mounted iPad and I followed the way the orientation looks in the designer. I know this is open source but just wanted to get a sense whether it will be another year. If so, I will figure out an alternative. Thanks for all your work on this.

Hello Efren,

I did some work on the iOS code but was again distracted by other priorities.

But reading your message, I'm not sure that's really your problem.
My understanding of what you posted is that you designer a panel in portrait in the Designer but want to use the panel in landscape on the iPad.
If my understanding is correct, then the updated iOS console would not fix your problem, as it will not automatically rotate a design but merely select the correct design based on the device orientation (so in your case still display the portrait design if there is no landscape version of the panel).

I think what Efren is referring to is the same issue I ran into. On the designer it shows the iPad landscape layout with the home button to the right, but when you get it on the iPad you have to have the button on the left it will not allow you to rotate. So I think he mounted his iPad on the wall with the button to the right plus the charger to the right and it appears upside down on the screen. I have the wiring for my mounts setup the same way but luckily I left enough room to mount it both directions.

How are you coming on the iOS app update? I have submitted for updates both on the forum and through the pro site, I was told progress was being made and testing will begin soon, is that the case?

I admire your work but I'm missing just more frequent updates.

No date to announce, as soon as we can

Is anyone working on it? I was told 6 months ago it would be going into Beta but haven't heard any response.
