I wonder if it is possible to put the web address in the URL field in a variable.
I want to make an web interface for my sat receiver, with many buttons.
Such as the enigma2 howto on this site

My receiver has currently ip address 192.168.0.24, but when I want to change that if must edit every button to the new address.

The format i am using is "http://192.168.0.24/web/vol?set=down"

I want to put "http://192.168.0.24" is a variable so it is easy to change

This is not currently possible

This is called DNS, on Linux/Mac simply add your receiver address to /etc/hosts

Thanks, had not thought about that route.
Works in Windows too i think.

Sure, just install cygwin.

Nice idea on way to handle that.

No need to install Cygwin though, Windows has a hosts file at \system32\drivers\etc\hosts
