Hi, I have downloaded from playstore Openremote version 2.00 beta 2 and installed it on an android tablet (version 4.0.4)
I have carry out the Hallo World example (a panel with the label "Hello World") on Open remote designer and I have updated the openremote.zip file in the controller. I connect my tablet to PC (Windows xp) in which there is the controller using USB
Now when I use autodetect in the app it doesn't recognize the controller: I put it manually. After that when I try to select the panel the message is "cannot get panel identity list"
Someone can help me giving me some advice on how log file to see and what to find: it seems that the tablet doesn't see the controller. Any idea?
In the download area I see also Android_Console_2_1_0_SNAPSHOT-2013-03-02.zip. What difference there are between the openremote downloaded from playstore and Android_Console_2_1_0_SNAPSHOT-2013-03-02.

Where can I find the instruction for deployng Android_Console_2_1_0_SNAPSHOT-2013-03-02.zip on android tablet.

Thank you very much

Did you see this thread: New Android Console 2.1.0 Beta!

There are a few compiled version that you can download and install on your Android. A formal release 2.1.1 seems to be in progress. The author is short on free time unfortunately.

This is likely a network issue:

1) Make sure your tablet is connecting over WiFi, not 3G

2) Check that from your tablet's web browser you can connect to the controller. Enter the URL [WinXP Controller IP Address]:8080/controller

Note that if your WinXP machine has multiple network interfaces, it may have multiple IP addresses

3) Installing APKs on Android : What Are Android APK Files and How To Install Them

Hi, I have Installed New Android Console 2.1.0 Beta and the connection between tablet and controller doesn't work.
Also if I try with the tablet's browser, it is not possible to connect with the controller.
Any ideas on what to see and what to set?

thank you

The connection is with USB and not WI-FI. Is this a concern?
I followed exactly the instruction indicated in
What Are Android APK Files and How To Install Them
With ipconfig comand I have only an IP address

It's a network connection issue that you need to resolve. If the browser is unable to connect to the controller, the app won't be able to connect either.

Also make sure you can use the browser on your WinXP to connect to the controller's page normally: http://localhost:8080/controller
