I'm working on setting up Global Cache Itach contact closure with openremote. I have commands setup and know they work but am unable to setup a switch that will successfully turn on or off. I can get it to execute one command but will not show status and will not execute the opposite command.

Also when I setup a custom sensor but cannot get it to show "on" or "off". It will read and display "state,1:1,1" or state,1:1,0 but cannot get it to read it as on or off.

Create state items to map "state,1:1,1" to "on" and "state,1:1,0" to "off".
The switch needs a sensor that returns "on" or "off".

As long as you don't want to use the custom sensor to drive a binary switch, you can enter any string, and display it as such on the screen.
You could have tried this yourself. Takes only a few minutes!
